Not very well known outside Brazil, Samba singer Leci Brandão is a prominent figure of Brazilian popular music with 20 albums under her name. One of my personal favourite is “Cara Pintada”, a song made as an homage to the “Caras Pintadas” (“painted faces”) movement that culminated in the impeachment of president Fernando Collor in 1992.
