Bell Towers – I’m Moving To Berlin – 2019

In recent news, one of Berlin’s most loved club, Griessmuehle, is very sadly about to close at the end of this month. The building owners are not even going to let happen the last monthly round of the famous “Cocktail D’amore” party, which just turned 10 a few months ago. Let’s hope that they will find another space soon to keep spreading positive and forward-thinking vibes. “I’m Moving To Berlin” is an ode to this special party by one of its regular DJs. “It’s too late now / There’s no turning back / I gave it all for Cocktail d’Amor…”

Floyd Lavine – My African Acid – 2019

Mixing African beats and Electronic music has been quite the winning combination in the past few years. One artist doing that particularly well is South African producer Floyd Lavine, who is bringing some new vibes to the Techno-oriented city of Berlin. The Afro Deep compilation where he was featured was made for Beating Heart, a very cool project inviting artists to remix songs from the world’s largest single collection of vintage African recordings. In this particular compilation, it was songs from 1950’s Uganda that have been re-worked.

Wolfgang Tillmans – Source (Roman Flügel 909 Mix) – 2018

On top of being one of the most in-demand contemporary photographer in the World, Wolfgang Tillmans is producing music much influenced by the Berlin scene he has been capturing for years. The original version of “Source” is a reflective and experimental piece of music layering sounds made by his own voice. I really appreciated how Roman Flügel turned it into a “club ready” jam with the TR-909, giving the original track more groove while keeping the sounds that makes it special.
